A (Brief) Marketing Glossary

Have you ever just felt…completely clueless? 🌟

Picture the scene: you’re happily watching a fellow marketer’s video when they use a phrase that you’ve never heard before. Suddenly, you’re lost, sitting there with ‘???’ written all over your face. 😵‍💫

Look; we’ve all been there. 💗

To give you a helping hand, we’ve put together a brief glossary of some common marketing terms you’re likely to come across day to day. 🦄

✨ Analytics. Analytics refers to data, which is collected and used to evaluate how successful a marketing activity or campaign is. 📈

Bounce Rate. A bounce rate is the number of people who visit a page on your website without taking any action or visiting another page. 💻

Call To Action. A call to action, or CTA, is a phrase which encourages your audience to take action – usually in a way that benefits your business. 📢

✨ Conversion Rate. This is the amount of people who complete the desired action on a web page (such as filling out a form), and is usually worked out as a percentage. ✍🏻

✨ Engagement. This reflects the amount of interaction you’re getting from your audience, usually on social media. This might be through likes, comments, or shares. 💬

✨ KPI. This stands for ‘key performance indicator’, which is a way of measuring performance. For example, marketers might use specific indicators to see how well a marketing campaign is doing. 👩🏼‍💻

✨ PPC. This stands for ‘pay per click’, which is a type of advertising model. With PPC, you set up an advert for your business and then pay a fee to the search engine or website each time somebody clicks on it. 🏆

✨ SEO. Short for search engine optimisation, this is improving the amount of quality of traffic that comes to your website from search engines (E.g. Google).💡
